Drama in the Czech Republic at stage 2 of @tourdefeminin 💥 rainy days! •crash 4km in, wait ages for service because teamie @leah_dixie also came down on the slippery slide roundabout! •we chase for like 20km to get back to the very strung out peloton 🥴 • see @alice.cobb on the ground not moving, slow down to see if she’s conscious (*shes okay 👌🏿) • things are lighting up, follow wheels, bridge to a lil move, move gets caught • attack from 2nd wheel with about 45km to go • get up a 1 minute lead and then get lead by a race official the wrong way, and then start going backwards on the course 😂 no one can tell me where to go so flip it and get back on course •meanwhile @leah_dixie and @vrouwnewsom are back in the pelo jumping on every attack! •manage to stay away for the win* • race jury isn’t sure if I won* because I went off course • turns out the detour didn’t change the time gap and I was full send all the way to the end to put on my yellow T-shirt and receive a massive crystal vase 💎 • leading GC, but with a 30second penalty for the excursion 🙄 •consumed 500mg of @scienceinsport caffeine 🤡 • now to defend yellow with superstars @teamtibco_siliconvalleybank on some more lovely Czech roads! Good racing and aggressive talent @tourdefeminin — p.s would like to see #antidoping at this race next year @tourdefeminin!

Team vibes matter. Trust, empathy, dedication, and friendship. They’re qualities that can trump watts and threshold powers… and yield big results on the road. Today, extra special props go to two teammates: @brodie_mai for winning solo, epically at the @tourdefeminin, after crashing in the early kilometres of the rainy, often times chaotic stage. And to @alice.cobb who scared the living daylights out of me when she went down in the most horrible looking spill I have ever raced by… and came out of the Czech hospital fine and as cheerful as her normal self. Thank goodness. There. Those are my two special teammate shoutouts for the day. После пересчета оказалось, что Вита Хейне стала лидером ГК. Вчерашние ходатайства к норвежскому комиссару UCI сыграли свою роль. Как видим, Броуди — без собственной вины — лишилась драгоценных 30-ти секунд. Годт йорт, Хайтек.. når alt er bestemt på sidelinjen…

Today was one of those “you gotta be willing to lose to win” days at @tourdefeminin. With only 4 seconds separating me and the yellow jersey from Hitec (thanks to aforementioned time penalty) I wasn’t confident to go to the line with her and gamble on a bunch sprint. • Noticing an opportunity to distance myself from the after a long techy descent. I rallied heavy legs and attacked a climb early, knowing I would have a group over the top. This established a strong break of 6. This was my only chance to get a good gap, With 5 of us motivated we rode hard for 20km, and we made it past the halfway point of the race before a fierce chase by Hitec was bringing the yellow back to us. I attacked again in one last dig to force the gap to remain, but the yellow then attacked over the top of me and I was way too gassed to jump again as the group rode away. Impressive teamwork from Hitec in defence of yellow. • Guest rider @leah_dixie put in a strong chase but unfortunately it was a bit too late to close any gaps. The group splintered more and I became isolated. • I continued ride as hard as I could to get to the yellow group, yet I watched my GC hopes fade into the forests as the kilometres came down. I chased until the last 3km when I had truly left it all out on the road, and the rain returned at a fitting and somber time as I accepted the race was not mine this time. • I showed up to this tour in less than ideal health, having battled bouts of sickness, a lingering cough and two crashes to add. I can’t say I feel rewarded for my efforts at this tour, but I’m satisfied with my fight until the end I certainly will come away much more resilient, stronger and smarter. The courses were awesome, the Czech crowds inspiring and the peloton exciting. I came away with no result but it was worth playing the game and winning a stage. • Losing is spectacular. Its just as important as winning. I love racing, the emotion and fight, I loved being aggressive and I’m looking forward to La Course with @teamtibco_siliconvalleybank 💖
